Whole-farm Starter Pack

$176.00 - save 20%

Excluding GST

The whole-farm starter pack is perfect for farms looking for a comprehensive view of the entire farm’s soil fertility status - conducting a test on every paddock.

Typically, 1 out of 4 paddocks use a comprehensive Pasture Soil Test as it's being closely monitored, while the remaining paddocks use a lower-cost Max Coverage soil test to test for pH and OlsenP.

The number of starter packs depends on the number of paddocks. So if you have 40 paddocks on farm, order 10 packs – getting a 20% discount on every pack and keep your total whole-farm testing costs down.

Ideal for established pastures.

Benefits of Whole-farm Starter Pack on the ground

  • Improved soil productivity across the farm: Comprehensive soil testing across a farm allows for a more tailored and targeted approach to nutrient management.

  • Better environment outcomes: by only applying nutrients based on where they are needed.

  • Cost savings: Keep total testing costs down while still maximising coverage of soil tests across your farm and save on fertiliser costs by only applying what is needed.

What this bundle contains

The whole-farm starter pack is a set of 4 soil tests:

  • 1 Pasture Soil Test - our most popular soil test offering a detailed look at soil acidity and major nutrients (including sulphur). It's perfect for understanding your soil fertility and planning the right fertiliser or lime - for both pastures and crops.

  • 3 Max Coverage Soil Tests - A low cost, simple test focusing on two key measures: soil acidity (pH) and phosphorus (Olsen P) for optimal grass growth. Perfect for established pastures and overall soil health monitoring.

Order as many sets of 4 as you need to cover every paddock on your farm - save 20% on every set!

This product will be shipped direct to your address. Delivery time is estimated to be between 24 to 48 hours. Shipping is free!

We partner with ARL, one of the best soil testing labs in NZ with over 40 years of proven experience serving local farmers and growers. All tests are done to the highest standards, tailored to NZ conditions.

The Pasture soil test measures:

  • pH – measures the acidity or alkalinity of the soil which affects the availability of nutrients to plants.
  • Phosphorous (Olsen P) – assesses the availability of Phosphorous to plants, important for energy transfer n plants supporting plant growth and health.
  • Cations (Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium and Sodium) – measures the extractable amount of cations, key nutrients essential for plant growth.
  • Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) – the higher the CEC the greater the capacity of soil to store and retain cations (Ca, Mg, K, Na).
  • Base Saturation – provides a percentage saturation of the CEC for each of the cations and can be used to better understand and plan your fertiliser needs.
  • Volume weight – the density of a known volume of air-dried and ground soil - gives an indication of the soil’s physical character (e.g. sandy soils vs clay vs pumice vs peat, etc).
  • Sulphate Sulphur (SO4) – provides the extractable amount of Sulphate Sulphur - a building block for plant protein.
  • Extractable organic Sulphur – provides the extractable sulphur content in the organic matter which is an indicator of sulphur reserves in the soil.

The Max Coverage soil test measures:

  • pH – measures the acidity or alkalinity of the soil which affects the availability of nutrients to plants.
  • Phosphorous (Olsen P) – assesses the availability of Phosphorous to plants, important for energy transfer n plants supporting plant growth and health.
